I had high apple pie in the sky hopes. I like to plan. I'm a planner. Sometimes my plans are so good I need to ease into them slowly. A couple of weeks ago, I made a great schedule for accomplishing all my goals, which includes school, excercise, scrapbooking, cleaning and more. It really is a great plan. I decided I would not overwhelm myself by trying to do it all at once. I started with school. We have done a great job with school every day. Last week I added in exercise. This week I was ready to jump in with both feet and do everything on my list. I got up early, got busy and was feeling great. Then, what do you know? My baby woke up sick. She wants to be held. She wants to be held by me. She wants to be held all the time. I quickly came to the conclusion that my goals would have to be put on hold. Sometimes I feel like the scheduling gods are against me. Sometimes I feel like there is a force out there that really wants me to fail with my goals. Today, since I am in a good mood, I choose to believe that the Lord wants me to remember that sometimes all I need to do is hold a baby, and I will be accompishing the greatest thing for the day. Having to sit and hold the baby will allow me to read to my kids books that we haven't picked up for a while. It is reminding me that slowing down and cuddling is often the best option. So, my goals will wait another day. Oh, I'm sure we'll get a few things done today. School is easily done with a baby on my lap. But, the kitchen floor might stay dirty one more day. And today, I'm okay with that. Of course, it still is early. We'll see if I can stand it the rest of the day. Someday I will accomplish all my other goals.
Oh, and as an update, last week I lost 2.5 lbs. Woohoo! I hope this week is just as good!

2.5 pounds!!! Awesome! Sounds like you've gotten a really good start. And your post is a good reminder to me that sometimes I just need to sit and cuddle with my kids. Keep up the good work and the good cuddling!
ReplyDeleteI love schedules. You are doing a great job on your diet/exercise! Way to go losing that much weight.
